About the Trainer:

Dr Yeap Ban Har was with National Institute of Education for more than ten years until recently. Presently, he holds two concurrent positions at Pathlight School where he is the director for curriculum and professional development and at a newly set up global teacher professional development institute. Ban Har also holds an adjunct position with Whelock College in New York where he teaches early childhood numeracy courses and a visiting position at Rajabhat University Mahasarakham in Thailand where he teaches a doctoral course.

 

He conducts regular professional development courses for teachers in the region and beyond. He has conducted numerous seminars for parents and tutors including several well-received ones for STU last year.

This seminar is designed to help participants learn about the different heuristics that students in primary schools use to solve challenging problems. Participants will learn the age-appropriateness of these heuristics and how they can guide children to use them. This seminar is suitable for parents and tutors of children at any grade level in primary school.
