ABOUT THE CONFERENCE

This Conference is designed for all teachers of English and Literature from primary to junior college levels. It features papers and workshops on scaffolding, children’s literature, text types, critical and creative thinking in the English Language classroom, drama and media in the English classroom, and many more. Professor Frances Christie (University of Melbourne), Professor Allan Luke (Queensland University of Technology), Professor Graeme Turner (University of Queensland), and Professor Tara Goldstein (University of Toronto) will be the keynote speakers.

There will also be workshops to be conducted by NIE lecturers and English Language and Literature practitioners, focusing on issues of teaching English Language and Literature in our schools, especially with reference to the most recent curricular initiatives in English Language and Literature teaching.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND

This conference is intended for all teachers of English and Literature from primary to junior college levels.
